Friends Against Scams app - Trading Standards app

Trading standards have released an App for general public use in the run up to the Christmas period. 

The Friends Against Scams app is available to anyone who wants it, whether you have been a victim of a scam or not – it is designed to be educational and give people the tools to self-protect and develop confidence in this area. 

The app currently offers three key features:

1.     Scams awareness training covering doorstep crime, telephone fraud, mail fraud, and how to identify a potential scam victim.

2.     Image and screenshot analysis: users can upload screenshots or photos of suspicious emails, texts, or letters, and the integrated Ask Silver AI will provide a report on the likelihood of it being a scam.

3.     Website checking tool: users can submit a URL to the integrated Ask Silver AI scams checker to assess whether a website is trustworthy.
